I have recently been blessed with many apples and struggled to use them all before they went to waste. Someone then came to my thoughts in a nostalgic frame of mind. My grandmother made many wonderful things growing up and in her yard she had apple trees. As a child I used to love to eat them and twist the stem and yes you guessed it; to see if the first name initial of my certain crush would be revealed at the break of the stem. I am sure every young girl can relate to this memory.
Over the past 4 years I have had so many things to be thankful for. Since my accident a little over a year ago life became even more valuable. Each time I would have a recipe that would require apples before the fall I would twist the stem until is broke and when it did I would think of what I am thankful for in the man that I married. Not that this isn’t good but I began this year whenever I would twist the stem I would be grateful to God for all He has done for me. With the first letter that came off with a twist I would think of something to praise God for.
God not only delights in us when we are praising Him for our family. He also would like us to take delight in Him. He deserves our praise and honor for ALL that He does. In these times of uncertainty we have to look for the positive in everything. So find your twist whatever that may be and thank Him for each thing He has done. As they say, life is way to short.
